Cake Mix Brownies

This is a super easy, quick and very yummy recipe! I am not a big chocolate brownie fan so this was perfect and oh so tasty!

NEEDS:
1 white cake mix (box)
2 eggs
1/3 cup oil
1 cup chocolate chips (I like semi-sweet)

Mix the ingredients in a mixing bowl, lightly grease a 9 X 13 pan, spread mixture into pan and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. These are fantastic and SO EASY!

Hike

Me and Mike decided yesterday we would go on a day hike.

Total it was about a 6 mile hike, which wasnt too bad but boy are my legs sore today.

Reunited

I forgot how much I love Tim McGraw!

He opened with Real Good Man, which just so happens to be my favorite Tim McGraw song, it was perfect! I could barely contain myself!

Stupid Name

I should have known that today was going to be one of those... seeing how I woke up late, didnt eat breakfast, and my lunch was all soggy and gross...

I got a permanent job (which is GREAT but that happened yesterday) at Group Health and they do background checks on everyone they hire, no problem right I dont have a record... wrong...
So since I actually work at the temp agency that is pimpin me out to Group Health (after 3 months I will become a permanent no more temp employee) I was there when my background check came through and you now what it said DANIELLE R THOMPSON-CONVICTED FELON! needless to say my jaw dropped opened. I instantly started freaking out thinking someone had stolen my identity, but after my freak out we figured out that there is another Danielle Thompson living in the Spokane area. HA HA (and I thought it was funny until) right well yea it would be funny except now I have to go get finger printed to confirm that I really am another Danielle Thompson and that I didnt just steal another Danielle Thompson identity. And Group Health informed me that I have to be cleared by Monday in order to start work and that if I cant get everything processed by then they will no longer be able to hire me because I have to be able to start Monday at 8 on the dot. I mean look at me do I look like a convicted felon NO. But they have to have federal government confirmation that I am not, and they already have someone waiting to take my spot if I fail to get confirmation. ( I am now mad at Mike for having such a common last name, I didnt have problems like this when I was a Boeck).

Tomorrow I will most likely think this is funny but right now I just want to cry because this job at Group Health is a great one it would allow me to go back to school and they might possible help pay for it and it pays AMAZING! So those police or who ever is going to finger print me better hustle it through the system so I can go to work!

Cake!

I just got done taking a cake decorating class at Michaels and here is some of my handy work....

This was my first cake, I obviously still need some practice with writing. I found out how shaky my hands really are!

Then we made clown cupcakes, they are super easy to make but I was shocked to see how much frosting went into making one!

This was my final cake. Those roses were so HARD! Not only is it difficult to coordinate your hands but that frosting is stiff so it takes a lot of hand muscle to squeeze the frosting out. I was really proud of this cake (it may not look great to some of you but I think it looks amazing!)
I would highly recommend Michaels cake decorating classes to anyone who is interested in learning how. It is a lot of fun but a lot of work too (everything is made from scratch but boy is the frosting yummy).
This Sunday (Valentines Days) is Mikes birthday so im excited to make him a AWESOME birthday cake!

Obsession

I never have anything to blog about and I really want to get better about blogging so I thought I would blog about my recent obsessions.
For whatever reason I have become obsessed with gnomes (I know creepy) it all started one day when I was wondering around a store called Boo Radley (yep the store is named after the character in To Kill a Mockingbird)and they had this huge collection of gnome stuff and it wasnt creepy gnome it was utterly adorable gnome stuff! Ever since then I seriously go out looking for cute gnomes which is actually a lot harder then one would think (lots of creepy gnomes out there). It is embarrassing to admit this latest fascination because what 21 year old likes gnomes.... I had a little gnome in the bathroom but I had to remove it because I felt like it was gazing at my naked body and I got really weirded out. But all in all I love those little gnomes (especially on cute little notebooks or cute little candles). (By the way all the gnome things I have which really is only about 3 gnome things, are all little so im not like this crazy gnomes lady or anything and they are all artsy cute looking not hey I have one of them in my yard looking... just wanted to clarify that.)

My second latest obsession would be owls. They are oh so wise looking. I have found they are rather easy to draw as well (I dont have a job yet so I get rather bored during the day). If you ever go to Barnes and Noble you will have to go to there journal section, they have loads of journals with owls on them. I have this awesome idea on how to decorate my living room and I think a little owl here or there will look just perfect.

Anyways those are my two latest obsessions!

And to end the year we moved to Spokane! It is great to be back in Washington! I love being close to family and friends. Even though I had a great year and had lots of fun and did a lot of "first", it was hard to move so far away from everyone and everything I have ever known. It was hard moving to a new place where the only person I knew was Mike. I missed my family and friends a lot and am glad to finally be lots closer!
